Telepsychiatry is a cost-effective way to deliver mental health care services remotely to patients via interactive video sessions. It dispenses a range of services including psychiatric evaluations, therapy (individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy), patient education and medication management through the use of computer or smart phones,from the privacy and comfort of one’s own home to address common behavioral health issues.

Psychiatrists are physicians with an MBBS and an MD in Psychiatry. They are legally allowed to prescribe medications for the treatment of diagnosed mental disorders along with the ability to do psychotherapy. Psychologists are medical professionals who have a Master’s degree in Psychology. They treat patients with different forms and techniques of psychotherapy, commonly known as talk therapy.

Steps to schedule an appointment with a psychiatrist or psychologist:

1. Select your provider – Psychiatrist or Psychologist.

2. Choose your date and time slot – Select availability from the calendar given for your provider. Fill all your personal details such as email and phone numberfor the appointment.

3. Make payment – After you select your provider, make the payment towards the session using the payment portal.

4. Accept the terms and conditions.

5. Join meeting with your provider at the scheduled time.

To start your meeting via smart phone or tab – please download the ZOOM app. Enter your name in the box and click start meeting.
For desktop and laptop users, enter your name and click start meeting.

To join your session via computer or laptop, you need an internet connection. Smart phone users would require a working phone number and Wi-Fi/mobile data.

There are a few common reasons people go online to see a psychiatrist:

At this point in time we are only seeing patients age 16 and up. Check back in the future, as we plan on offering treatment for children and adolescents.

An online psychiatry session is essentially the same as an office visit but more convenient since patients are seen from the location of their choosing, eliminating the need for travel. Prior to the visit you can provide past history of treatment, medicines taken, and a brief status of present issues.
